Senior Spotlights highlight the Class of 2021 seniors. Elaine Caryl Shinkle is the daughter of Nathan and Deborah Shinkle. She is involved in National Honor Society, Drama Club, Spanish Club, SWAT, Art Club, Yearbook, and Campus Bowl.
Shinkle’s favorite teacher is business teacher, Mrs. Wriedt. Shinkle says, “She is really funny, and pushes me because she knows that I can do anything." She enjoys the classes Wriedt teaches and currently takes her Hospitality and Desktop Publishing classes.
One of her favorite school memories was when the senior class went to the St. Louis Zoo for their eighth-grade field trip. However, her most memorable moment from high school was the production of "Clue" by the Drama Club. "The cast became very close during the practices and we had lots of fun together," she said.
Shinkle says three words to describe herself would be funny, smart, and kind. The most influential person in her life is her mom because she knows that she can do anything and inspires her to achieve her goals.
Shinkle's future plans are to attend a community college while she figures out what she wants to study. She then plans to attend a four-year college for her career. In 10 years, she sees herself having her own family.
