Admission for tonight’s varsity basketball scrimmage is a sports drink of your choice. See you there!
Dear Knox County R-I Parents,
I want to let you know of a situation that occurred at our schools this morning. This morning, a middle school student made threatening comments. The threat was not directed towards any specific person in general. The teacher immediately escorted the student to the office. Principal Goodwin contacted local law enforcement and juvenile agents who assisted in interviewing the student.
Our schools are committed to providing a safe environment for all students. Our teachers, principals and support staff are dedicated to providing a positive learning culture and the actions this morning of the classroom teacher and principal reflect that attitude.
Please know that our students are safe. We are fully aware of the situation and are handling the matter by board policy.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Andy Turgeon, Superintendent
